The boiler is having to act as an instant water heater, heating up the water from whatever the cold water mains temperature is. In the summer, that's not a problem.

I've traced back to where the water is coming out; it's the Diverter valve Assembly; more specifically the water seems to be coming from the DHW Pressure differential valve - the part with the pushrod that controls hot water output.

It seems looking at that picture that pin 1 (hot water off) is actually being used as the common in a volt free contact - this means that pin 4 will not output anything if there is nothing going to pin 1.

Jan 20, 2011 · The boiler is heating the water, then the water leaving the boiler gets too hot so the boiler shuts down until water leaving the boiler is cool again, and then cycles. One solution is to turn DOWN the required temperature of the water. This will stop the boiler overheating the water. This won't stop it, as the plate is blocked on the system side.
